Paella Party

A core part of TBT’s philosophy is to treat each client as if they were part of our close-knit family. So at the end of last ride of every Tour, we guide you to the Delgado’s traditional Canarian home, nestling in the pretty hills high above La Orotava. There, Mama Delgado will greet you with a warm smile and the wonderful aroma of her expert cooking; the centre piece of which is always a huge paella, cooked the traditional way, of course.

The house, which originally dates from 1975, has wonderful views across the hills and down to the ocean far below and is surrounded by a peaceful garden with a wide variety of fruit trees (including kiwis, avocados, oranges and apples), loving tended for many years by Papa Delgado. The walls of the main function room are adorned with the Delgado family’s collection of sporting memorabilia, including a photo of every TBT Tour to-date. The centre piece is the TBT Wall of Fame – where your name will appear, if you manage to complete the Volcano Tour challenge!

What our guests say

«The paella on the last day, with an opportunity to meet your parents and see the «wall of fame» at their house was a really nice way to finish, and please thank them again for their hospitality.
It’s obvious that you put a lot of thought and effort into your trips and it really does make a difference.»

Sean Schofield (UK), 2 ISLANDS tour January 2018

«The highlight of the trip not related to cycling is having lunch at the brothers parents house. Mr. and Mrs. Delgado make perfect hosts making delicious traditional dishes from produce grown at their property. This is a unique experience not to be missed. We cannot wait to once again ride in Tenerife. And of course join the family for lunch. There must be a reason why so many professional teams choose to train in Tenerife, we now know why.»
