Having run warm-weather road-cycling tours and training camps on Tenerife and the Canary Islands for the past 14 seasons, TBT is proud to have welcomed over 1,000 riders from all over the world, mostly of which are returning clients
Alberto and Marcos share an intimate knowledge of Tenerife roads, extensive sports management skills, and vast experience of the demands of competitive cycling and triathlon; this combination means they instinctively know how to meet the expectations of even the most demanding cyclist.
We aim to get to know every one of our clients individually and treat them as part of our family for the time they are with us. Above all, we strive to create a safe, fun and fully supported environment in which each one of our clients can focus on exploring their personal cycling aims, however challenging they want them to be.
We can provide training camps for serious road cyclists looking to supplement their winter or spring programme, in preparation for the European sportive / triathlon season. Equally, we are happy to welcome more leisure-minded club cyclists, who embrace a challenge, but perhaps consider their trip to be more of a holiday.
It’s no coincidence that many riders from the major pro cycling teams (including Visma, RedBull – Bora, Bahrain, Astana, Ineos, Groupama) favour Tenerife as their training ground of choice for the Grand Tours. Join TBT and you could easily find yourself rubbing shoulders with the pros somewhere on Mt Teide, as you experience your own taste of cycling heaven in the beautiful Canary Islands.
At the end of every Tour, we guide you to the Delgado’s traditional Canarian home, nestling in the pretty hills high above La Orotava. There, Mama Delgado will greet you with a warm smile and the wonderful aroma of her expert cooking; the centre piece of which is always a huge paella, cooked the traditional way, of course.
The house has wonderful views across the hills and down to the ocean far below. It is surrounded by a peaceful garden with a wide variety of fruit trees (including kiwis, avocados, oranges and apples), loving tended for many years by Papa Delgado. The walls of the dining room are adorned with the Delgado family’s collection of sporting memorabilia, including a photo of every TBT Tour to-date. The centre piece is the TBT Wall of Fame – where your name will appear, if you manage to complete the Volcano Tour challenge!
Full on-road support is all included in the price, so the TBT van will always be on hand to cater for your every need – including nutrition (water, isotonic drinks, energy bars, dried fruit etc.),carrying personal equipment (wind jacket, gloves, camera, a change of clothes etc.), and any mechanical or physical problems (flat tyres, cramps, tiredness, etc.). We also provide a profesional briefing prior to every ride, covering route dynamics (distance, elevation gain, difficulty etc.) and to flag any potential hazards and photo opportunities. All you have to do is enjoy your ride.
TBT believes its Clients deserve to relax and recover in quality accommodation, after the exertions of each day’s ride. All the 4-5* hotels we use are based in very convenient locations, to optimise your riding experience. They all have unique features, and (combined) offer a wide variety of benefits to enjoy in your time off the bike – fantastic views, peace & tranquility, charm & sophistication, spa / gym / pool facilities, plentiful & varied food. We also offer the opportunity for you to further up-grade your accommodation package if desired.
